Candy cane lamp

08-02-2018
Signal light with an industrial look

I made the candy cane lamp in the summer of 2018 to warn me about the NS (Dutch railway company). When I drive to the station in the morning, I'm in too much of a hurry to check the NS app beforehand to see if the train is running on time. The candy cane lamp warns me if something is wrong with the trains.

The name candy cane lamp comes from a funny man I used to work with at Rank Xerox in Venray. He thought those industrial tower-shaped lamps that are often mounted on top of a switch box look like candy canes.

Design

The CAD program Openscad takes some getting used to at first but for those who are already used to writing code it is it's a good way to start designing things.

Print

If you want to print a design you can download it in OpenScad, open it and then make it into an STL file that can be sent to the slicer.
